OAP Funding
Also known as: Ontario Autism Program funding
What does OAP Funding mean?
OAP funding refers to money that may be available to eligible families through the Ontario Autism Program to help pay for approved autism services and supports for their child. Families may be able to use this funding to access a range of supports, such as therapy or skill-building services, based on their child's needs and the program's guidelines. The amount and type of funding a family may receive depends on program criteria and is determined by the program administrator.
Why this term matters
For many Ontario families, OAP funding can be a meaningful way to access supports that help their autistic child thrive at home, in school, and in the community, making it an important part of the broader support puzzle.
Canadian context
OAP funding is available only in Ontario and is governed by the Ontario Autism Program. Eligibility, funding amounts, and approved uses are determined by the program administrator and may change over time, so families are encouraged to review current program details directly with the OAP.
